Voluntary Contributions for:
This fund was established to honor Alvin L. Watne, MD, FACS, and to ensure the continuance of the Surgery Resident Competition each year at the Chapter’s annual meeting. The funds will be invested at the Chapter’s recommendation, with the Chapter retaining control; the yield from these monies will be used to help defray the cost of the competition. The Chapter is a 501-C6.

JOHN O. RANKIN MEMORIAL FUND
Established in 1985, this fund was endowed for the purpose of defraying the expense each year for speakers who address the annual spring meeting of The West Virginia Chapter of The American College of Surgeons. The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valle, Inc. manages donation to this endowment fund. The West Virginia American Chapter of The College of Surgeons has control over distribution of these funds.

EDGAR F. HEISKELL MEMORIAL FUND
In May, 1976 The West Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons approved the establishment of the Edgar F. Heiskell, Jr. Memorial Endowment Fund, having the West Virginia University Foundation, Inc. manage donation to the fund. The objective was the creation of a total endowment of $25,000 in the memory of Dr. Edgar F. Heiskell, Jr. for the inclusion in the Foundation’s investment pool. The yield from the endowment would be used to sponsor the Annual Meeting of the West Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
